Radioactive Waste Management Limited (RWM) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority which is responsible under the Energy Act 2004, for the clean-up of the UK’s publicly owned civil nuclear legacy sites, including the management of radioactive waste. It was established to deliver a geological disposal facility (GDF) for higher activity waste and to provide solutions for the management of all radioactive waste.
The GDF represents a major multibillion-pound long-term national infrastructure programme of huge national importance, with the scale and complexity of the programme rivalling, if not surpassing, other large scale, nationally critical, infrastructure programmes such as the London 2012 Olympics, Crossrail and HS2.
The Government’s recently announced community consent led policy means that RWM will work in partnership with communities to deliver the GDF. As Managing Director, you will bring an incontestable track record of stakeholder engagement, driving organisational change, safety, risk management, procurement and building capability in the delivery of major infrastructure projects. With an engaging and open leadership style, you will lead the organisation in its evolution as a high performing, fit for purpose delivery body generating credibility within communities, industry and Government.
If you have a track record of significant achievement and believe that you can lead a nationally important infrastructure project, deemed to be one of the largest environmental clean-up projects in UK history, and could contribute to the NDA’s mission of delivering safe, sustainable and publicly acceptable solutions to the challenge of nuclear clean-up and waste management then please apply.
